Your body needs to stay hydrated. In the name of self-care, you can have a hydration session where you drink a glass of coconut water (or plain water) along with eating some watermelon slices. Its a great way to have a 5 minute self-care.

It is also recommended that we drink 8 glasses of water per day. Staying hydrated is very important.

2. Have Meditation

Another 5-minute self-care idea is meditation. You can do this early in the morning when you wake up or laying in the dark at night. Close your eyes and think of happy thoughts that will calm your mind.

3. Do a Mini facial (Skin care self care)

Go ahead and apply a sheet mask to soothe your skin. Let your pores love you as you enjoy that 5 minutes cleansing. Rinse and glow.

Deep breaths can ease anxiety, reduce stress and help to calm you. It’s healthy and is something we all can afford to do. Go ahead and inhale, then exhale.

5. Read journal messages

Reading short positive messages to comfort/uplift yourself is a part of emotional self care. You can do this to start or end your day. There are so many good devotionals out there that you can use.

    6. Light a candle and use essential oils

    At the end of a long day, the idea of just lighting some scented candles around the house (or in your room) plus using a stress-relief aromatherapy oil is a good self-care activity.

    Unwind, destress, clear your mind and drink some wine while you’re at it. It’s a relaxing 5 minute self care you can do.

    7. Take a walk outside

    Get outside for 5 minutes and get some Vitamin D, smell a rose or think of how beautiful the day is and how grateful you are to be alive.

    Whether you just want to stop on the patio, walk in your backyard, go to the garden, its all up to you. Just remember to clear your mind and think happy thoughts while you’re at it.

    8. Get a quick massage

    Who doesn’t want a massage? It could be your head, hands, feet etc.

    Allow your partner, friend, or family member to do it for you. (I guess you’ll be able to do hands, head and so on, you can decide). But it just feels better when someone does it, you know (hehe).

    It’ll help to ease tension and helps you to relax.

    9. Jump rope

    Do a jump rope activity in the name of your health. You might not be able to do a full exercise routine each day but skipping for 5 minutes every day is still exercise.

    I love doing affirmations and manifesting good things, habits, positivity in my life. Personally, it helps me to feel so empowered. Go ahead and try it each day.

    Write a list of things that you want to attract in your life, affirm your worth, remind yourself of how amazing you are, and so on.

    There are so many little things you can do to exercise self care and though 5 minutes look like a short time, these are all acts of self care.

    On some days, you might want to do a longer or more extreme self care, drink a healthy smoothie, read articles on self care, visit and spa and so on -all a part of taking care of yourself.
