What is self-care and why is self-care important? Self-care day is a day set aside where you love on yourself a little more. It is important because It makes you feel relaxed, awesome, and rejuvenated! Also, self-care is important for mental health.

So, these self-care tips and ideas are your tickets to haven, to your oasis. Get ready.

What To Do On A Self-Care Day

Firstly, understand that self-care is an act of self-love. It’s a day where you clear your mind, focus on yourself (get a little selfish), relax, get stuff done that’ll make you feel and look good.

I honestly look forward to my self-care days! They literally do not even have to be on a specific day. I know some of you guys have self-care routines that you do on a specific day, but for me, my self-care day can be any day honey. Most times it’s on the weekend, but it’s not traditional,(if you get what I’m saying).

I absolutely love soaking up some awesome self-care tips and I love sharing them!

Self-Care Tips

These self-care tips are so simple but will leave your body and mind feeling great. Just a side note though, they’re not in any specific order.

Let’s go.

  1. Let your skin love you – It’s easy to start with your face. Exfoliate your skin to remove the dirt and oil. You may use natural home remedies or use a good exfoliating product/scrub. Rinse with warm water. Always pat dry with a towel. Use a toner and a facial moisturizer. However, you’re free to use your masks, eye serums, face serum, lip moisturizer etc. Whatever your routine is, go right ahead and do it.

2. Give yourself a long warm bath – Whether you want to have a bubble bath or just stand under the shower, a self-care day is about feeling good. Use a body exfoliating scrub. I love to wash my hair in the meantime. Also, If you choose to have a bubble bath, get a book to read with a glass of wine or champagne. After you’re done, lather yourself with a body oil that hydrates the skin. I love doing this for self-care night at home.

On a side note, these can be used as self-care for stay-at-home moms, workaholics, college students, men, and women who just need a day to withdraw themselves from the world to rejuvenate. Call it international self-care day.

3. Get a manicure and or a pedicure – The feeling you get when you’ve gotten either a manicure or a pedicure is just super. It really boosts the experience. Guys, always have cuticle oil to touch up when your cuticles get dry. Trust me, it does something.

4. ladies get your hair done, men get your hair groomed– Nothing like a fresh look. Going to a salon is a self-care tip that can never go out of style.

5. Grab something you love – Another self-care tip that you will enjoy. Even if it’s your favorite smoothie or coffee, get it! It’s your day, you deserve the treat.

6. Turn on some soft music and relax – Take some deep breaths, do yoga (got yoga essentials?), light a scented candle, meditate and journalize some things you are grateful for. Self-care day is about taking care of your body and your mind. Find your tranquil space.

7. Watch a movie, then take a nap – Curl up in bed or on the couch and watch a nice movie. You can take a sweet nap afterward.

8. Call someone you enjoy talking to the most – There might be someone who makes you feel so loved, comfy and happy every time you talk to them. On self-care day, you may call them to engage in a meaningful conversation. Burst with laughter and enjoy yourself.

9. Get a massage – Self-care spa at home anyone? Whether it’s at the spa or at home, a massage is always a good idea. Get pampered and allow those muscles to relax. Soothe those joint pains with some good body rub. It’s a vibe!

10. Learn something new. Learning something new is one of the most impactful self-care tips. Get in the know on things you don’t know about because when you learn, you grow. In fact, It’s always good to discover new things that will benefit you. For example, learn how to relax your mind when stressed.

11. Finally get something you know you need.

Everyone has different needs. Maybe you needed a wristband as your wrist hurts, teeth-whitening strips, or any product you needed from a while back. Ensure you try to get it because taking care of yourself is of utmost importance.
