It’s such a nice feeling to find your own tranquil space, to free your mind from the hassles of this world, and just be in total solace and relaxation.

I use to be so consumed by the number of things I have to do, thinking about life and other things that kept my mind on a treadmill. In fact, I had to meet with myself and start a new journey of self-relaxation.

You guys, I know there are a lot of things going on and you go through a lot daily, but nonetheless, you should always try to relax your mind. Give yourself a break. In addition, It’s a self-care strategy!

Try to find ways that will assist in freeing your mind from the cares of life and let all that you have to do go on pause for a little bit. Additionally, You will realize that it’s so soothing and you’ll feel much lighter.

Moreover, when my mind is relaxed, I feel better, I sleep better, I’m more productive and calm and I don’t worry. It just makes sense to have a relaxed mind!

So, enough blabbing, let’s jump right into how to relax your mind:

WHAT TO DO TO RELAX YOUR MIND

  1. Sit at a park and unwind.

    Firstly, the park is a great place to go to where you can find a spot to chill a little. Clear your mind and take some fresh air. Going outside and interacting with nature is always soothing. You can even have a picnic!
  2. Listen to music.

Music will rock your world. There’s something about music that brings you to a different place. Turn on some soft music, find calming sleep music on YouTube and or gain access to 75 million songs. Listening to piano sounds is also a suggestion. Rain sounds on YouTube also give a relaxing effect. I turn this on most nights before I go to sleep. Sorta falls into my nighttime routine.

3. Put away your phone for an hour or two and read a book.


Gosh, we’ve become so addicted to our phones. it’s almost like we can’t go without it for even a second. I’m guilty (haha). However, reading is one thing you can do to relax your mind. Reading is so refreshing.

4. Meditation and Yoga.

Think about all the positives and lure yourself into mediation. Yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises are good for clearing your mind. Get your yoga essentials, release some tightness in those muscles and relax.

5. Go fishing.

Have you ever been fishing? Go fishing and clear your mind while wheeling in some fish! It’s a satisfying activity.

6. Visit the Spa or have a relaxing bath.

Talk about relaxation! This is one of the best ways to relax your mind. You may choose to go to a spa near you to get pampered, or you can create your own aesthetic spa at home.

Therefore, set the ambiance, light your scented candle, get a great home spa set, good bath bombs and enjoy a relaxing warm bath. Get a book and sip on some wine while you’re at it. You’ll realize it’s so therapeutic.

7. Lay in the dark.

Ever had those nights where you lay in the dark, close your eyes and do some breathing exercises? These are all techniques to relax your mind. Don’t ever underestimate the power of these techniques. I absolutely love doing this. In the meantime, you can listen to some calm piano music as mentioned earlier. It’s good to know how to relax your mind and body to sleep.

8. Go to the beach or the lake.

Ok so grab your towel, sunscreen lotion, portable chair, beach umbrella, snacks, and a book. Go to the beach/lake to relax. Put your feet in the sand, watch the waves, look at the seagulls, get a tan, read and create your own relaxing vibe.

9. Use your Journal.

One way to clear your mind is to write down your thoughts. Declutter your mind by jotting down the things that are at the forefront of your mind. Let your emotions be. Stop storing up your to-do list in your head. Put it on paper and ease your mind of the stress.

Additionally, a lot of people go to bed and can’t sleep because they’re considering tomorrow’s to-do list. Write it in your journal and let it go. These are some things to relax your brain.

10. Enjoy some peace and quiet.

This might be overlooked, but, quiet time can help to relax your mind. You might be in an environment that’s always noisy or busy. As a result, you feel overwhelmed and consumed. At this point, you need some time alone.

Importantly, quiet time can mean taking a little break to sit by yourself on the patio, swing in a hammock in the backyard, or by the garden. One night, you may look at the stars and the moonlight. Very peaceful.

11. Watch a movie.

Have a laugh by watching a good comedy. Movies are great for relaxing your mind. What’s your favorite comedy? Leave it in the comments.

12. Book a room at a hotel.

Make a reservation and spend a weekend at a hotel/resort. Take advantage of the amenities and services. Relax by the pool and at the spa. All-inclusive? heck yes!

13. Transform your space.

You can choose to create a relaxation room. Relaxing spaces are necessary to free your mind and calm down. That room will have candles, a little electric water fountain, calming scents, a surround system (where you can play soft music, rainfall or birds chirping), a massage chair, etc. Whatever it is that will add to your relaxation room, embrace it.

14. Remember to pray.

Lastly, but definitely not the least is prayer. Prayer time is important. Connect with God and tell it all to him. Eliminate worry; everything will be fine. I always feel better and more relaxed. All these self-care tips are self-care strategies!
